Founder, Chief Architect & CEO
Ramesh Balan is Knomadix Founder and Chief Architect. As the child of a K-12 educator, Ramesh has deep respect and passion for education, which has intensified over the last 30 years. Knomadix is the expression of Ramesh’s commitment to K-12 education and desire to improve how kids learn and how educators teach. Ramesh has successfully bootstrapped several enterprise and mobile software companies; previously, he worked as a product portfolio manager and architect at AT&T Bell Labs. Ramesh enjoys family time with his wife and two college-age daughters, and playing competitive tennis.
Head, R&D, Engineering
Priya Malhotra leads Knomadix R&D and software architecture, design, development, engineering and operations. Priya brings over a decade of relevant software and systems development and engineering experience to Knomadix from industry leaders such as Dell and Infosys. When not driving the next Knomadix innovation, Priya enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and collaborating with her 4 year old son, Aaryan, who enjoys his role as Knomadix unofficial system tester. Aaryan’s focus is breaking our apps and keeping our development team on their toes!
JW Marshall heads the marketing program for Knomadix and also plays a vital role in formulating the company’s K-12 market strategy. Back in 2005, JW joined Study Island as their 6th employee and was integral to Study Island making the Inc 500, transitioning to Archipelago Learning, and executing a successful IPO in 2009. In 2011, JW joined Sapling Learning to build their K-12 marketing team. After a successful acquisition by Macmillan in 2013, JW continued working to grow Sapling Learning and other Macmillan companies through 2015. JW enjoys playing tennis and volunteering with the Young Texans Against Cancer. He is also a strong supporter of SMU, where he played college football in the late 90s.
Head, Strategy & Operations
Kirk Otis heads Finance, Operations and Strategy for Knomadix. He has spent his 30 year career in Leadership, Strategy and Corporate Development roles. Kirk joins Knomadix to help scale their differentiated Dynamic Learning platform both within the US and internationally using a multi-tier distribution model. Kirk has held leadership roles in a variety of start-ups including several software based firms. He grew up in the midwest, enjoys outdoor sports, boating and skiing, and earned an MBA at SMU in Dallas.
Chief K-12 Advisor
Crockett DuBose is the chief advisor to Knomadix. He brings more than thirty years of rich experience in education as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. Crockett championed numerous programs for students and teachers, both as an educator and as head of business development at Renaissance Learning. His reputation is one of innovation — implementing novel business strategies and incubating new business models for schools — and developing strong communication standards that ensure success at all levels. Crockett played baseball in college, is an avid vocalist and loves spending quality time with family.
Strategy & Marketing Advisor
Donovan Dillon is a senior advisor at Knomadix and has played a key role in shaping Knomadix strategy, messaging and marketing tactics implementation. He currently serves as Principal at xCentric, LLC, a software development firm in Dallas, TX. Donovan has over 30 years marketing and technical experience, including technology planning, product development, marketing, lifecycle management, and regulatory support. He previously served as President of Ad Giants – a Marketing Services firm specializing in SaaS and creative solutions to improve sales and marketing effectiveness. Donovan’s experience includes technical and marketing leadership roles with ATT, Level3, XO, and Southern New England Telephone.
